Previously, the local government of Shaoxing had started to manage the mining area of ​​Yifeng Mountain. On September 27, 2017, the Zhejiang Provincial Hydrogeology Engineering Geology Brigade invited relevant experts to form a judging panel for the preparation of the Fourth Geological Brigade of Zhejiang Province and the Shaoxing Dongfa Inspection Material Co., Ltd. "Atomic Mine" on Yifeng Mountain

Bei Qingshen once visited a number of geological exploration reports on Yifeng Mountain and found that the radioactive metal element uranium was indeed discovered in the Yifeng Mountain area, and the presence of uranium deposits was detected.

Uranium, an extremely rare radioactive metal element, has an average content of only 2 parts per million in the earth's crust, and is much less likely to form industrially exploitable deposits than other metallic elements.

Uranium ore containing uranium is a radioactive dangerous mineral known as the "rose" in the ore family.

As early as 1957, the Geophysical Exploration Brigade of Zhejiang Province had detected the radioactive anomaly of Yifeng Mountain and listed the area as a radioactive anomaly zone. “Two radioactive anomaly zones were circled in this area, numbered 116 and 121”.

The radioactive anomaly zone numbered 121 refers to the granite body of Yifeng Mountain in the mining area.

“In order to evaluate the prospects of uranium mineralization in various anomalous areas of Yifeng Mountain”, after nearly one year of exploration, the Ninth Geological Brigade of Zhejiang Province completed the “Preliminary Evaluation Report on the Uranium Mineralization Point of Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province” in June 1984.

According to the report, "A total of 81 ground gamma anomalies were found through radiological surveys, which constitute two uranium water anomalies." However, due to the uneven distribution of these surface mineralizations and poor continuity, the report concluded that there is no industrially meaningful uranium ore body in the region.

After many years, Yifeng Mountain, which has not yet discovered an industrially meaningful uranium ore body, has become a legally exploited site for sand and gravel mining enterprises.

Dongfa Building Materials Factory

Can be mined, limited use

According to some data, “In order to meet the large demand for building materials in urbanization and infrastructure construction”, Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources commissioned the “Zhejiang Non-ferrous Geology and Mineral Exploration Institute” in 2005 to conduct a general survey of stone mines in Yifeng Mountain. The mine is required to have an annual output of 1 million tons and serve for 20 years. The purpose is to use ordinary building materials.

It is not suitable for industrial buildings, civil building materials and decoration materials, but it can be used as a riprap and seawall and river embankment for reclamation. According to this, the “Geological Report of the Yifengshan Building Stone Mine in Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province” passed the assessment.

On March 29, 2005, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Land and Resources approved the “Opinions on the Review of Mineral Resources Reserves of the Yifeng Mountain Stone Mine” and agreed to record the mineral resources. As a result, sand and gravel mining companies were able to legally enter Yifeng Mountain.

A reporter from Beiqing Shen once found that in 2009, a real estate listed company in Shaoxing, Baoye Industrial, took the mining rights of Yifengshan Stone Mine and built a commercial concrete production plant in Yifengshan, which was later transferred to private operation.

Shaoxing Dongfa Building Materials Co., Ltd. is currently the only company that is still mining the Yifengshan ore. The ore is transported by Dongfa Building Materials Co., Ltd.'s 50-ton class transport vehicle to several concrete companies supplied by it.

The National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System shows that Shaoxing Dongfa Building Materials Co., Ltd. was established on July 7, 2009, and the mining license will expire on September 24, 2019. Its business scope is: mining granite for construction; rolling stone processing; wholesale, retail stone, pond residue, stone debris.

According to public information, the use of granite for construction mining by the company is clearly defined: it can only be used for other purposes such as roads and dams such as houses.
